According to the Tehran Disaster Mitigation and Management Organization, following the devastative Monday earthquake in Turkiye and given the fact that there are problems in search and rescue operations in earthquake-stricken areas of the neighboring country, and the number of victims of the incident is very high, the Iranian organization is ready to dispatch heavy and semi-heavy teams as well as emergency medical groups through the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System and the On-Site Operations Coordination Centre to Turkiye.
Tehran Disaster Mitigation and Management Organization as the coordinator and organizer of two search and rescue teams of Tehran Municipality and the Red Crescent Society of Tehran Province affiliated to the INSARAG is ready to dispatch these two teams to Turkiye.
The dispatch of the team of 45 search and rescue operators needs affirmation by Turkish officials as well as coordination between Turkiye and Iran to be implemented.
